Violin Duo – A Benderly Concert Event

We are delighted to welcome 2022 with the violin duo of Grace Nakano and Emily Chao.

Colleagues at the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Grace and Emily have prepared a most intriguing program for a unique pairing of strings, including selections from Bartok’s 44 Duos for 2 violins, Sz. 98 based on folk music from many Eastern European countries, Telemann’s Suite for Two Violins “Gulliver’s Travels”, TWV 40:108, and Ysaye’s compelling Sonata for Two Violins in A minor, Op. posth, written in 1924.

A program of violin duets is a rarity on the concert stage – we are indeed fortunate to have the opportunity to enjoy this performance here at the Opera House.
