The SCFPA summer concert series got off to a great/good/lively start, featuring DESERT FEVER, a Sierra Vista-based jazz combo made up of former military personnel and friends who were drawn together by their love of music. Their tagline:  “Where endless enthusiasm and jazz collide! #DesertFeverJazz”.

The band personnel included vocalist Jen Charest, Edwin De Leon on the trumpet, Dave Davidson keyboard and vibraphone, Ken Fox on guitar, Chris Lawrence saxophone and flute, and Mark Davis, bass.

Sunday’s performance was an ideal mix of jazz, pop, standards, a receptive audience, and wonderful weather. It’s always my great pleasure witnessing musicians having fun!

I am looking forward to the next Summer Concert in the Courtyard event featuring Heritage Love Songs, July 24th. Mark your calendars. See you there.
