It was a pure delight to listen to a wonderful selection of Spanish-inspired and baroque guitar pieces, while watching Ryan’s fingers dance across the strings.

The young U of A musician told the audience it was his first solo concert, and he showed great musicianship and natural poise as he created a warm and friendly feeling in the hall. Ryan shared interesting facts about the composers and the pieces, and we felt we got a bit of a view into his training and the journey he is on.

We love the way the Santa Cruz Foundation for the Performing Arts truly values and promotes young musicians, giving both them and us opportunities such as we had last Sunday afternoon.
