Make the weekend off right with a special presentation of “American Symphony” at the Tin Shed Theater on Friday, June 14th, at 6 PM. In this intimate documentary, musician Jon Batiste attempts to compose a symphony as his wife, writer Suleika Jaouad, undergoes cancer treatment. Admission is $5 at the door.
Then join us in the courtyard of the Opera House on Sunday, June 16th at 7 PM for a performance by Desert Fever, a Sierra Vista-based jazz combo made up of former military personnel and friends who were drawn together by their love of music. Their tagline: “Where endless enthusiasm and jazz collide!
With vocalist Jen Charest, Edwin De Leon on trumpet, Dave Davidson on keyboard and vibraphone, Ken Fox on guitar, Chris Lawrence on saxophone and flute, and Mark Davis on bass, Sunday’s performance is certain to be an ideal mix of jazz, pop, standards, and blues – a perfect follow up to the movie on Friday “An American Symphony”
