Harp, Flute and Strings – A Benderly Concert Event

Former artists in residence, Emily Chao,violin and Juan Mejia, cello, join Carla Fabris, harp and Zachary Warren, flute, in an array of music written for this delightful combination of instruments – works by Haydn, Villa-Lobos and Jacques Ibert.

One of the highlights of the program is the Sonata for harp, flute and viola by Claude Debussy. Debussy wrote this in 1914, at a time when Europe was ravaged by World War I and he was suffering from terminal cancer. It is a magical work, “a land of laughter and tears”. We are pleased to welcome these outstanding musicians today to recreate the sounds of Debussy’s world.

NOTE: Tickets are $30 online and $35 at the door on the day of the concert. Please give us a heads-up if you plan to mail a check so we can reserve the seats for you.
