It was pure joy to be among the audience for the March 5 performance of the Sky Islands Trio (Evan Kory, Emily Chao and Juan Mejia) with guest artists Laura Casarez and Raphael Lizama. The two contrasting selections by composer Arvo Part showcased not only the composer’s masterful versatility but that of the musicians as well.

The four movements of the Schumann piano quintet, performed by all five artists, further demonstrated the outstanding musicianship of this remarkable ensemble. I eagerly anticipate their next appearance in the Benderly Concert Series!
